This Día de Muertos ofrenda and home decor honors our loved ones

This new Day of the Dead product collection is a rainbow of color and filled with spirit. Target partnered with artist/designer Dia Pacheco to inspire and educate Target shoppers. I think the collection will make an unforgettable impression on anyone who has lost a loved one—that’s just about everybody!

The central product is the ofrenda, a central element of the Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration in Mexican culture. It’s an altar created to honor and remember deceased loved ones. Ofrendas are often decorated with various items, including:

  • Photos of the departed

  • Favorite foods of the deceased

  • Candles to light the way for spirits

  • Flowers, particularly marigolds, which symbolize the connection to the afterlife

  • Sugar skulls and other symbolic decorations

Each element serves a purpose, helping to create a welcoming space for the spirits to return and be remembered by their families. The ofrenda is both a personal and communal expression of love and remembrance.

Take a look and get ready to fall in love with this very special collaboration. The product line includes figurines, candles, frames, a garland, skull wreath, and dishware.
