A Ukrainian tale for kids

I’ll read you The Mitten by author-illustrator Jan Brett. I'm reading this book to you, wherever you are, and to the Ukrainian children who have just lost their homes.

The children of Ukraine are leaving their homes in search of safety in other countries in the EU. Sometimes a little imaginary escape into a picture book is how we feel better. This children’s book is about finding a home. Nikki loses his white mitten in the snow. Forest animals find the knitted mitten and move right in. It's a cozy house until a giant bear moves in, only to give a great big sneeze that sends the critters flying.

Authors and illustrators are overjoyed to bring happiness to the world! If you love the book, check it out at your public library or purchase your very own copy.
